The University of Sussex reinvents virtual learning with Boomi
The University of Sussex hopes to redefine digital learning with its “SUSSEX 2025” strategy, which aims to break the limits of educational technology and learning.
As part of this plan, the university is creating a digital campus. All teachers and 19,000 students in more than 100 countries will obtain on-demand access to evaluation materials and courses on multiple platforms.
The university is also moving from its inherited platforms. Instead, a flexible information infrastructure will come capable of taking advantage of new opportunities in the future.
In the past, the University of Sussex executed a hybrid IT environment that covered so many local students registration systems inherited as a virtual cloud-based learning environment.
This created complications for internal data flows:
* The inherited system offered critical functions but lacked visibility on financial platforms. This made it difficult to understand what was needed from external service providers, such as banks.
* Databases and university data silos were isolated and difficult to combine. This rigidity stopped the aspirations of modernization of the university.
With the help of Boomi, the University of Sussex has achieved two important results:
With Boomi, we have revitalized the way we taught teaching and learning.
Boomi helped us accept the change, create an integration strategy and think about where we want to go.
Boomi satisfied the information integration needs of the University to:
Enable your transition to a new virtual learning environment in the cloud, from the previous personalized open-source platform.
Control and ensure the flow of critical data between the virtual learning environment of the University and the Electronic Evaluation Site.
Ensure an efficient migration of IT infrastructure to the cloud with low-code capabilities and API-based real-time integration.
